Amytal Sodium is indicated for use as a a) sedative, b) hypnotic for the short-term treatment of insomnia (up to two weeks) and c) preanasthetic.
Amytal Sodium is contraindicated for patients with hypersensitivity to barbiturates. Amytal Sodium may be habit forming. Tolerance, psychological and physical dependence may occur with continued use. The most commonly observed adverse reaction is sleepiness or feeling drowsy (estimated to occur at a rate of 1 to 3 patients per 100). test
Amytal Sodium is available as 0.5g per vial, to be dissolved in 5mL. sterile water for injection, to prepare a 10 percent solution.
