Launches Opium Tincture, USP (Deodorized) 10mg/mL

Marathon Pharmaceuticals, LLC announced today that it has launched Opium Tincture, USP (Deodorized) 10mg/mL. Opium Tincture, an oral solution, is an opium preparation used for the treatment of diarrhea.

Marathon purchased Opium Tincture and two other products from Ranbaxy Pharmaceuticals (NYSE: RBXY) for commercialization and development in the United States. It is classified as a Schedule II controlled substance.

The most commonly observed adverse reactions with Opium Tincture include constipation, nausea, vomiting, pruritus (commonly known as itching) and urticaria (commonly known as hives).¹
